FRANCISCO CASANOVA and SARA MURPHY at the NAVAL ACADEMY in the VERDI's REQUIEM MASS

This coming Sunday April 21st, tenor FRANCISCO CASANOVA and mezzo-soprano SARA MURPHY will appear as the tenor and mezzo-soprano soloists at the performance of Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem Mass, which will take place at the Alumni Hall of Annapolis' Naval Academy at 7:30 PM.

Mr. Casanova and Ms Murphy will sing under the baton of Mo. Dr. Aaron Smith. Other soloists will be  Ms. Karla Scott, soprano, and Mr. Daryl Duff, bass.

IN THE NEWS: SARA MURPHY, VOTED FIRST PRIZE WINNER -, OF NY ORATORIO SOCIETY'S SINGING COMPETITION

Mezzo-soprano Sara Murphy was voted today First Prize Winner of the New York Oratorio Society's Singing Competition.

The competition took place today, April 13th at 3 PM at Weill Recital Hall (Carnegie Recital Hall). Ms.  Murphy sang the Angel's Farewell (Elgar's The Dream of Gerontius) and Liber scriptus proferetur (Verdi's Requiem).

When the announcement was made the audience that filled Weill Recital Hall gave Ms. Murphy a standing ovation.

Sara has also been hired to make her debut at the Ravinia Festival this coming July. Ms Murphy will be singing under the baton of Maestro James Conlon, Samuel Baber's Dover Beach and Benjamin Britten's Phaedra.

I am very proud of Sara, who has been my student for the last three years, and wish her all the best in her professional and personal life.
