Mezzo-soprano Sara Murphy was voted today
First Prize Winner of the New York Oratorio Society's Singing Competition.
The competition took place today, April 13th at 3 PM at Weill Recital Hall (Carnegie Recital Hall). Ms. Murphy sang the Angel's Farewell (Elgar's
The Dream of Gerontius) and Liber scriptus proferetur (Verdi's

When the announcement was made the audience that filled Weill Recital Hall gave Ms. Murphy a standing ovation.
Sara has also been hired to make her debut at the Ravinia Festival this coming July. Ms Murphy will be singing under the baton of Maestro James Conlon, Samuel Baber's

I am very proud of Sara, who has been my student for the last three years, and wish her all the best in her professional and personal life.
Way to go,
